[BONUS UPDATE] The Fate of #262 (Alas, poor Mr.) Potato Skull

On February 20th my skull for the day was a carved potato: #262 (Alas, poor Mr.) Potato Skull

One day later I posted a picture of how it had aged:

In the intervening five months it has sat drying out in various places in my house, most recently on the mantle (along with a bunch of other skulls I haven't put into storage yet). It's only carved on the one side and I left the peel on the back side. That side started to grow a few eyes, but then dried out and sucked inward making it concave! Aside from some flaky pieces around the edges which are breaking off the majority of it is now rock solid (and about 2.5 x 2.5 in [6.35 x 6.335 cm])...

Steak Skull

Well it took über fan Justin Lovorn A.K.A. Tatman to finally get a carnivore skull up here! He says, "I know it's not gonna be your favorite, being vegetarian and all, and it goes against the veggie idea, but I have a new submission for all of the meat eaters. I was having lunch at work when I noticed this guy smiling at me. A couple of choice cuts (pun intended) later and here he is. I'll try to come up with a veggie skull also to even things out."

Skull Dollz

Couchgirl 13 from Ontario, Canada made these fantastic Skull Dollz! She says, "The man like one is Skully Stan and the other is Skully Kitty Scruff. Stan died during surgery to remove his gall bladder. And Scruff died chewing on, his favorite, electrical cords, as you can tell by his 'frizzy' tail. Scruff's scare is from when he was neutured. lol I now have a Skully Biker Bunny who had an unfortunate accident while riding his motorbike one day, but he's not completely finished. They're made of reused terry cloth towels and a suede shirt I found at the thrift store."

[UPDATE] Skull of Cabbage: Day 47

A rather drastic change in the Skull of Cabbage after more big storms and hot weather! It got totally overwhelmed by the fungus/mold that appeared on it last week. It had a rich deep green color for a little bit while it was wet, but now it's basically black and feels like it is dry all the way through. At this point it has shrunk to only about 2.5 x 2.5 x 3in [ 6 x 6 x 8cm]. Are there still more surprises in store or has it reached the end of its lifespan?

If you're wondering what this is all about, you can follow the Cabbage's progression HERE.
